Newcastle United: Alexander Sorloth interest has many Magpies supporters fuming over reported transfer target

According to a report from Fotospor via Turkish football, Newcastle United are interested in scouting Trabzonspor striker Alexander Sorloth who is currently on loan there from Crystal Palace – but many Magpies supporters have since come out to damn the report.

Sorloth, who has racked up an impressive 17 goals and six assists in the Turkish Super League this campaign over 21 starts, will reportedly be monitored by club scouts during the Istanbul derby clash with Fenerbache. The Norwegian hitman has been turning heads with his goal return in far eastern Europe this season, with the Magpies desperate for a prolific target man who can consistently find the net. Compared to current striker Joelinton, as per WhoScored.com, Sorloth also beats the Brazilian in terms of shots per game (3.3), key passes (1.3) and dribbles (2) – even if you can debate that this is largely down to playing in an inferior league.
