According to a report by Calcio Napoli 24, Newcastle United are pondering a swoop for want-away Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik with the club able to pay his salary – but Aurelio De Laurentiis’ price tag can’t be considered without first offloading club record signing Joelinton.
Milik, who bagged 14 goals last season for the Serie A side, is now on the club’s transfer list – with the likes of Fulham and Spurs also interested in doing a deal as well as the Magpies.
As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, negotiations were open over the forward but De Laurentiis is said to be frustrated with Milik and his representatives over the lack of willingness to get a deal done and his collapsed move to AS Roma.

Now, as Premier League clubs ponder a swoop, Newcastle are said to be one of three teams holding major interest after the Pole’s switch to the Italian capital fell flat – but Steve Bruce and co face one problem when it comes to paying his £18.3 million valuation.
In order to afford that fee, the club must first offload £40 million acquisition Joelinton to balance the books – especially after having already paid £20 million to sign Callum Wilson from Bournemouth.
The 51-cap international will also cost the club a reported £67,000-per-week in salary costs, something that Newcastle would be able to afford, but selling their Brazilian flop may have to be done first when also taking into account the transfer fee.

Labelled as a forward who can do ‘wonderful things‘ in the final third, Newcastle would certainly turn heads by landing Milik – with the only question being whether Joelinton would be let go to make it happen.
