According to a report from HLN.be, Newcastle United are interested in a summer pursuit for Club Brugge forward Emmanuel Dennis as they search for a prolific striking option, a development that has prompted mixed reaction from the Magpies fan base.
Dennis, who has scored two Champions League goals for Brugge this season, both coming away to giants Real Madrid in the group stage during their dramatic 2-2 draw at the Bernabeu, could be seen as a striking alternative to the currently misfiring Joelinton. The £40m record summer signing has failed to impress so far on Tyneside, scoring just three goals in all competitions with two of them coming against League One minnows Rochdale and Oxford United.

When comparing the two players’ stats, Joelinton comes out on top in the aerial duels department, winning 5.5 per game, while Dennis has averaged a superior shot per game ratio (2.7) over his six European outings (WhoScored.com), potentially highlighting the threat he could pose in the Premier League.
