Some Newcastle United fans have agreed with each other that former Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino should succeed Steve Bruce at St. James’ Park.
This comes after comments made by former Liverpool central defender now pundit Jamie Carragher, who claimed to Sky Sports that Bruce is not universally loved up on Tyneside despite his roots. He added that in contrast, Rafa Benitez was adored by NUFC supporters before Mike Ashley got rid of him.
A discussion was prompted by The Chronicle on their official Twitter page as to whether the Magpies should stick with Bruce or go back in for Rafa or a big name manager. One man mentioned in the debate was Pochettino.
The 48-year old has managed 256 games in the Premier League for both the Saints and Spurs, winning 132 of them, drawing 61 and losing 63, with his teams scoring 445 goals and conceding 272, according to Transfermarkt.
