Lots of Newcastle United fans have shown their appreciation for Jamaal Lascelles after the captain posted a tweet on his official Twitter page about Premier League players sticking together for the same cause.
Lascelles shared a collective statement from footballers in the top flight that they will all distribute some of their money to a contribution fund in order to help those who need it most during the crisis that everyone is living in.
All major footballing competitions have been suspended indefinitely, including the Premier League, until it is safe and appropriate to do so, meaning that players like Lascelles in the top flight are using their free time to try and help in any way possible.
The statement also reads that they have partnered with NHS Charities Together to try and assist them in generating and distributing funds quickly and efficiently to where they are needed most. It signed off with a simple message to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives, which has become a running slogan during these difficult times.
