Newcastle United: Fans buzz at takeover news from Rob Draper

Plenty of Newcastle United fans are buzzing after NUFC 360‘s Twitter page relayed information from Mail on Sunday’s chief football writer Rob Draper about the prospective takeover in the North East.

As per the journalist, several clubs in the Premier League have voiced their concerns to the top flight regarding the deal at St. James’ Park due to piracy concerns about broadcasting England’s highest division in Saudi Arabia.

However, sources close to the bid insist that there have been no red flags as of yet, as Draper added that the proposed takeover is expected to be approved soon.

There has not yet been a finalised time stamp in terms of when the deal will definitely be completed, as there are still concerns with the Premier League with regards to piracy.

In addition, the Saudi-led consortium have not yet found out whether they have passed the owners’ and directors’ tests set out by the top flight, so it looks like members of the Toon faithful still have to play the waiting game.
