Plenty of Newcastle United fans are discussing a report from ChronicleLive about why beIN Sports are trying to prevent a takeover happening at the Tyneside club.
According to The Times, the TV giants are trying to block a bid from the Saudis’ and have written a letter to the Premier League and all of its clubs urging them to stop the sale of the Magpies to a Saudi-led consortium.

As per the article, Mike Ashley has already agreed a £300 million sale to a group backed by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, but beIN Sports has warned that the country’s involvement in piracy of top flight matches threatens the prosperity of the game’s richest league.
ChronicleLive also point out that the Premier League has made unsuccessful attempts to take legal action in Saudi Arabia against the state-owned satellite provider, Arabsat, which broadcasts live games on the pirate channel beoutQ.
Despite the conflicts, one of the outlet’s writers Mark Douglas took to Twitter to explain why he thinks the deal will still go through.
