Many Newcastle United fans have discussed the verdict of the Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker on whether the Premier League season will be declared null and void.
The Leicester City supporter took to Twitter to voice his fears that the top flight campaign may follow in the footsteps of the Eredivisie, which has ultimately been ended with immediate effect following the global pandemic outbreak.

As a result, Ajax were denied the title despite being top of the pile but teams were given European places based off their final positions, whilst nobody was relegated.
Whilst the latter may be a shining light, if this happened in England’s top division then Liverpool would be denied their first title in 30 years, and given the fact that they were only two wins away, this would prove to be an extra kick in the teeth for Reds supporters.
Being mid-table, it probably wouldn’t have too big an impact on Newcastle, but these members of the Toon faithful still took time to discuss Lineker’s verdict on Twitter:
So…Bruce wouldn't be on record as ever being our Manager. every cloud eh.

Why is there an issue with the season being voided from our point of view? It makes sense tbh. Start again in August as usual

The sooner it’s declared a void season the better as this, in my view, would trigger the sale.
