Many Newcastle United fans are discussing an update on the proposed takeover from The Athletic writer George Caulkin after comments made by him were relayed by NUFC 360 on their Twitter page.
According to the journalist, the prospective buyers, made up of a Saudi-led consortium spearheaded by businesswoman Amanda Staveley, are still ‘overwhelmingly positive’ that the deal will go through, but warned that it will ‘take as long as it takes.’

Lots of members of the Toon faithful have taken to various news outlets and social media platforms for any sort of update that would see Mike Ashley’s reign at the Tyneside club end after 13 years.
However, judging by some of the comments, it seems as if some Magpies are becoming impatient over the whole situation, whilst others remain confident that the deal will go through.
These NUFC supporters discussed the update, with one fan showing his confidence by claiming that ‘it’ll happen’ and another saying that they are ‘still hopeful’.
