Newcastle United: Fans discuss Mike Ashley report on what life could be like after him

Plenty of Newcastle United fans have discussed a report from ChronicleLive about what life could be like at the Tyneside club without Mike Ashley.

The article reflects on when the owner sold his 9% stake in Rangers back in 2017 following a bitter fallout with the Gers supporters, as per the Daily Mail.

According to ChronicleLive, the perception amongst Rangers fans was that they were now free of Ashley and that the club could continue their journey of financial recovery and try to dethrone Celtic as Scotland’s top team.

However, the businessman still casts a shadow at Ibrox because of legal disputes about kit deals involving Sports Direct, which is set for the Court of Appeal.

Following Ashley’s feuds with the Gers faithful, it could pose a question as to whether his bitter relationship with some Magpies would actually come to an end, even if he leaves.

Some members of the Toon faithful have speculated whether Ashley will get involved with other clubs, as Brighton and Hove Albion, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Southampton and even enemies Sunderland have all been mentioned.
