Newcastle United: Fans discuss potential Dwight McNeil signing

Loads of Newcastle United fans are discussing the potential signing of Burnley ace Dwight McNeil after a ChronicleLive report from Lee Ryder was shared on Twitter.

As per the article, the Magpies have been alerted of the uncertain situation of what is going to happen to McNeil’s potential fee as it could be reduced given the market’s falling prices. Scouts from NUFC were apparently looking at the 20-year old before and the northern club have now been alerted about his potential availability. The report also claims that Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in a potential move in the summer transfer window.

The £16.2 million-rated man has scored two goals and provided five assists in 29 appearances in the Premier League this season, according to Transfermarkt.

However, one member of the Toon faithful has claimed that buying the left-winger is not a priority given that Allan Saint-Maximin already plays there. Comparing the two men in the top flight, McNeil has averaged more key passes, and he finds his teammates more in general at a higher success percentage, as per Whoscored. The Englishman also averages more crosses and long balls.
