Lots of Newcastle United fans have been discussing a report written by Lee Ryder for ChronicleLive as the Tyneside club have delayed contract meetings for Andy Carroll and Matty Longstaff.
As per the article, both players will have to wait if they are to negotiate new deals at St. James’ Park after entering a grey area of business caused by the Magpies’ takeover situation.

Longstaff’s contract is up at the end of June, whilst Carroll required a certain amount of appearances to automatically trigger a new deal but his contract also features a clause in which the Toon can sanction a one-year extension at any stage should they please.
With a would-be board ready to take control, the decisions on both players now appear to be in the hands of others.
The pair have made 27 appearances between them in all competitions this season, as Longstaff has managed three goals and Carroll four assists.
