Lots of Newcastle United fans are ecstatic over an injury update on Martin Dubravka that was posted on the Tyneside club’s official website.
The Magpies revealed that the 31-year old is nearing a recovery from a knee injury he picked up in last month’s 1-0 Premier League away win at Southampton, a result that saw the Toon climb above the Saints in the table, as per the BBC.
That was one of an impressive nine clean sheets that Dubravka has kept in the top flight this campaign, as the goalkeeper also averages four saves per league match, according to Sofascore.
Newcastle’s first-choice keeper has said himself that he is close to full fitness as he continues his rehabilitation at home.
The Slovakian international has kept 24 shutouts in 80 appearances in all competitions for NUFC over three seasons, as per Transfermarkt.
These members of the Toon faithful were ecstatic over the news, with one supporter claiming that Dubravka has been their best player this season:
maybe this break is a blessing for him, big miss in the first team
