Lots of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a tweet from NUFC 360’s Twitter page which showed images of old club games being shown on Saudi television.
Amongst the pictures were a game that the Tyneside club played against Italian giants Juventus back in 2007, where they were winning the game 1-0. A throwback image of James Milner in the famous black and white stripes also featured as some members of the Toon faithful were asking if this was a possible hint to the proposed takeover at St. James’ Park.

With the Saudi-led consortium head-hunted by businesswoman Amanda Staveley trying to buy the Magpies from current owner Mike Ashley, one can speculate whether showing old matches involving the club on Saudi TV has anything to do with the perspective takeover.
Nevertheless, the pictures certainly attracted interest from lots of Newcastle supporters, who hope that the bid will end Ashley’s reign of 13 years. These Magpies fans flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts:
I think that they are giving us a clue that the takeover is going to happen and that the premier league will not reject it or block it either I think #cans already if they have the games then it's 100% done.

Usually, it will be old matches for our league … and the old Saudi team.

these are the start of the Ashley era (carrol scored in that one) maybe there showing em 1 by 1 and after the Southampton away takeover will be done (in 4 years time)

Why would Saudi tv show games of Newcastle, friendlier at that if the takeover wasn’t happening?
