According to quotes from Sky Germany via the Newcastle Chronicle, RB Leipzig director Oliver Mitzlaff confirmed that winger Ademola Lookman will not be available for a loan move in January – dealing a heavy blow to Newcastle United’s hopes of securing the winger’s services.
Lookman, who has been out of favour at the German club this season having started just one game in the Bundesliga, has been linked with a move to Newcastle since the start of the January transfer window (The Sun). However, after this crucial update, it appears if the Magpies want to secure his services, they’ll have to pay a fee rather than bring him in on a temporary loan basis. Lookman, who averaged a higher pass success rate (76.6%) than the currently injured Allan Saint-Maximin (74.7%) during his initial loan spell at Leipzig (WhoScored), was thought to be a key target for Steve Bruce’s side given their shortage of left-wingers – with Christian Atsu being their only other senior natural in that position.
As a result, fans are livid over potentially ending the chase for his signature – find all of their best comments down below:
Mike Ashley at it again, no ambition no hope it pains me to say. Relegation battle looking more and more likely! 😖😤😠

Wow, a transfer NUFC apparently wanted isn’t gonna happen, again. I wonder who’s job it is to link players with us who don’t eventually “get over the line”? Whoever they are, they’re very good.
