Newcastle United: Fans in agreement over Mike Ashley after Gary Neville verdict

Plenty of Newcastle United fans are all in agreement over Mike Ashley after former Manchester United player turned pundit Gary Neville called for the Tyneside club to be banned from signing players in next summer’s transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, Neville told The Football Show that the Premier League should place a transfer embargo on all clubs that have furloughed staff or placed cuts on player’s wages, and indeed the Magpies were the first team in the top flight to have done the former, as per The Guardian.

ChronicleLive understands that Ashley and NUFC have no intention of reversing their decision as of yet, after Tottenham Hotspur, Norwich City and Liverpool did the same before the Reds made a U-turn after receiving fierce criticism.

These members of the Toon faithful believe that a potential transfer ban would only affect Ashley in a positive way, and voiced their opinions on Twitter, with one supporter even claiming that their owner ‘would be over the moon’:
