Replying to a Sky Sports statistic via NUFC 360, Newcastle United supporters have been in disarray over their diminished statistics under Steve Bruce compared to Rafa Benitez’s time at the helm – prompting some of them to take to Twitter and concede potential doom over their season.
The numbers, outlined by Sky, outline many different factors regarding the Newcastle team under Benitez and Bruce respectively – including points gained, goals scored and clean sheets in both managers’ first 22 Premier League games for the club. Under Bruce, the Magpies have conceded more, scored fewer and kept one fewer clean sheet – all the while garnering less possession and fewer passes completed per game than when Benitez was at the helm. As a result, many Toon fans have replied on social media predicting a doomed end to the campaign – with Newcastle currently five points off the drop zone.

Ashley seems to allows the club to spend only if there are less than three clubs between United and a relegation place.
The logic is if you are not aiming for anything then don’t bother.
