Many Newcastle United fans have been lauding a takeover view from George Caulkin after he shared his latest thoughts on his official Twitter page.
The Athletic journalist calmed members of the Toon faithful down by saying that opinions are the last thing that the platform needs more of, and added that the only one that matters at this point is the Premier League’s as they will give it soon enough. Caulkin claimed that being in meltdown will not make the deal happen any quicker.

Indeed, the Saudi-led consortium are awaiting a green light from the top flight before their bid can be fully accepted, as they await the results of their owners’ and directors’ tests. England’s highest division are also further investigating into piracy issues within the country, which could potentially hinder the takeover.
The fate of the deal very much lies in the hands of the league, and it is up to them whether they deem the bid fit enough for approval.
