Newcastle United have confirmed that both Andy Carroll and Fabian Schar will miss their upcoming Premier League fixture against Wolves through injury (via @SkySports_Keith).

Ex-England international Carroll has a problem with his groin, whilst Schar has knee ligament damage, and both injuries were sustained in their 1-0 defeat against Chelsea.
It is a big blow for Steve Bruce, whose Newcastle team head into the weekend in the relegation zone after a poor start to the campaign which has seen them lose five of their opening nine matches (BBC Sport).
Carroll rejoined the Magpies in the summer, but he was injured for the last few months of last season (Transfermarkt). Therefore, he has recently been reintroduced to first team action carefully and has made four straight appearances from the bench (Transfermarkt), but it looks like his body has already broken down.
As for Schar, he is a regular in the Newcastle team and up until now has started in all of their Premier League outings so far, so losing him is a major blow (via Transfermarkt).
Newcastle’s fans have been reacting to the news, and naturally they are disappointed that a couple of their players have been ruled out. However, many are focussing on the fact that Carroll has picked up a knock, but there appears to be little surprise given his injury record…
