Plenty of Newcastle United fans have reacted to the latest takeover report from ChronicleLive that states that Mike Ashley is close to relinquishing control of the Tyneside club.
As per the article, the Magpies have given the Middle East bidders until mid-May to complete the deal but an announcement could be made earlier.

This is because it is believed that the owner has given exclusivity to Amanda Staveley, PCP Capital Partners, the Reuben brothers and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) as he awaits confirmation of the sale from the Premier League.
It is also believed that sources close to the Ashley camp have now confirmed that a deposit has now been paid, as per the report.
Members of the Toon faithful are now waiting day by day for any major advancements on the deal, and it seems as if some NUFC supporters are asking more questions and getting less patient.

Doesn’t make sense, this tweet. Surely if what you’ve reported before suggests it’s in the premier league’s hands. So timescales are down to them. Makes more sense if he said this a month ago though.
