Lots of Newcastle fans have been reacting to an early January transfer update, as The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards says there is a ‘growing sense signings need to be made’.
The festive fixtures can make or break a season in the Premier League, and for Newcastle they may just have broken it.
Steve Bruce’s side were in terrific form entering Christmas, nudging their way into the top ten ahead of a Boxing Day trip to Old Trafford.
Three defeats and a couple of injuries later however, and things are looking very grim at St. James’ Park, which is perhaps what has prompted the realisation that January business is necessary.
No sign of any early window incomings at #nufc but there is a growing sense signings need to be made. Loan market with a view to buy is naturally of interest. Hull don’t want to sell Bowen this month, Newcastle still likely to try. Injury list will shorten considerably next week.

Edwards’ claim that there is ‘no sign’ of early signings but that the club is quickly realising action must be taken suggests something of a panic regarding potential incomings, perhaps even meaning that until the turn of form the club were happy to continue with the current squad.
