Newcastle United: Fans react to Nedum Onuoha’s view on Steve Bruce

Lots of Newcastle United fans have reacted to former Sunderland man Nedum Onuoha’s view on Steve Bruce after he told ChronicleLive that his former manager is the right man for the job.

Indeed, the central defender, who now plays out in the MLS with Real Salt Lake, played 32 games under the 59-year old in all competitions in the 2010/11 season, scoring one goal and providing two assists, according to Transfermarkt.

Speaking to the outlet, Onuoha claimed that as long as the new owners are just looking to add to the Tyneside club’s identity instead of completely changing it, then Bruce is the man to lead them forward.

The 33-year old also credited the ex-Manchester United centre-back for his management skills when he featured under him, adding that he was good to play for and made it clear what was going to be required.

He’s not the right man. He has no idea about tactics and has been out of his depth even with our existing squad. Anyone remember when the players had to tell him which way to play after the debacle at Leicester?? He has kept the ship afloat, no more, no less.

He is 100% the wrong man. He couldn’t coach the players we had. Had to “let” them play Rafas way. His own tactics were awful and his substitutions questionable. We were in free fall since Xmas. It’s not just his NUFC record it’s his whole managerial record in the top league.
