As part of a talkSPORT listicle via the Chronicle [14:44], polarising Newcastle United star Miguel Almiron was named in the top ten players that need to move on in January, with many supporters jumping to the Paraguayan’s defence for his inclusion in the bundle of flops.

The South American moved to Tyneside for a record transfer fee last year from MLS side Atlanta United, making him one of the most lucrative U.S. signings in Premier League history, but it’s been over 12 months since he last found the net at club level.
Almiron, who recently registered his first assist for the Magpies in an epic 2-2 home draw with Manchester City, has been a polarising figure among some supporters – but a recent consensus could be that he is hard-working (as you can read from some fans in the article linked) and runs the distance in a black and white shirt.
However, despite showing flashes of improvement this season, talkSPORT have named him as part of their top 10 Premier League players who need a transfer in January – with supporters not taking too kindly to the verdict.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
What a load of rubbish talk sport talk. Almiron covers so much ground on a match day going forward and tracking back it would be sucide to let him go.

Utter tosh. Fantastic player who does not stop running or trying. A credit to nufc and still young enough to get better.
