Newcastle United: Fans sceptical of signing Morgan Sanson

Many Newcastle United fans are sceptical about signing Morgan Sanson after Mark Douglas revealed in his report that the Magpies have made an enquiry about the French midfield player, which was shared on The Chronicle’s official Twitter page.

Sources from L’Equipe (via ChronicleLive), state that Newcastle are one of three clubs to have lodged an enquiry, but did not name the other two.

However, Douglas did reveal that four other Premier League teams are interested in Sanson, with Aston Villa, Everton, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers joining the chase. The journalist added that the 25-year old has reportedly been made available for transfer by Marseille.

Sanson has scored five goals and provided five assists in 30 appearances in all competitions from the middle of the park this campaign, according to Transfermarkt. The £20.25 million-rated ace has managed 39 strikes and 33 assists in total in 273 overall games in his club career, as per the website.

Many NUFC supporters are sceptical that this enquiry has actually taken place, with some pointing towards the news that the Toon have furloughed scouts and recruitment staff whilst others suggested it couldn’t be true due to the reported ongoing takeover talks
