Responding to a piece by the Chronicle, Newcastle United supporters have slammed potential ‘desperation’ from Mike Ashley and the board with the revelation that the club have slashed ticket prices for their FA Cup third round replay against Rochdale at St. James’ Park.
The Magpies drew 1-1 away to their League One opponents last weekend after Dale striker Aaron Wilbraham equalised ten minutes from full time, with midfielder Miguel Almiron having originally given Steve Bruce’s side an early first half advantage.
Now, in a potential bid to keep the cup spirit alive and well, Newcastle have appeared to ‘slash prices’ for their replay next Tuesday – prompting some supporters to slam owner Ashley and the board over what could be a desperate move to save face.
Since the start of the season, many Toon Army fans have been boycotting St. James’ in order to show their discontent with the current ownership – here’s how they reacted on Twitter to the club’s latest move.
