Newcastle United: Fans slam Rafael Benitez tweet in support of Steve Bruce

Responding to a tweet from account Rafa Facts, some Newcastle United fans have pledged their support to Steve Bruce following their latest Premier League victory over Crystal Palace at St. James’ Park – with fans pleading to move on from former favourite Rafael Benitez.

Benitez, who left Newcastle in the summer, originally had supporters panicking for their future in the top flight – with former Sunderland boss Steve Bruce taking the reins soon after his departure.

The appointment prompted mostly negative responses at the time, but after guiding the Magpies to a steady ninth in the table by Christmas, some supporters have come out in support of Bruce following a few impressive results.

However, seemingly still feeling the brunt of Benitez’ exit, Twitter account Rafa Facts uploaded a few statistics that were intended to highlight the negatives of Bruce’s tenure so far.

In response, some Newcastle fans pleaded their case for the manager – here’s what they had to say.
