Responding to a piece by Chronicle journalist Lee Ryder, Newcastle United supporters have slammed the notion that manager Steve Bruce will have to play a ‘game of patience’ with Mike Ashley if he wants needed transfer reinforcement this January.
Bruce, who has guided the Magpies to 13th in the table after an unexpectedly solid first half of the campaign, is reportedly looking to bolster his attacking options this January – being linked with the likes of Ademola Lookman (Sky Germany via Chronicle) and Karl Toko Ekambi (El Periodico Mediterraneo) as examples.
However, due to the fact Newcastle haven’t made a single first-team signing as of yet, Ryder offered an exclusive with the gaffer – one where Bruce went on to explain that the club have to be ‘patient’ if he wants to secure some additions this month.
In response to the piece, some Magpies supporters have slammed this take, insisting that time is running out as all clubs approach the halfway point of the transfer window.
