Plenty of Newcastle United fans have turned on Mike Ashley once again after a report from Lee Ryder stated that the northern club are set to receive an unexpected cash windfall.
The journalist shared his article for ChronicleLive on his official Twitter page, which stated that after a meeting with the Premier League, United amongst other clubs in the top flight will receive some of their TV and merit money early in order to try and ease the burden of having no football games to perhaps earn some needed cash.
The comments have been relayed from a report from The Times, which also reveals that Sky Sports and BT Sport have transferred funds for matches that would have been played in April and May.
As per the article, the Magpies will receive several millions of pounds from the Premier League for their current position, which is 13th (via BBC).
These NUFC supporters turned on Mike Ashley following the news, with some members of the Toon faithful claiming that the money will go straight to him and not benefit the club:
need to change headline, surely it should read "mike ashley to receive unexpected cash windfall" …

You mean Mike Ashley will. That money could be used to pay the staff….not the players.

When can the good people of Newcastle get what they know and feel is the most important thing for the club? A new owner?
