Newcastle United: Fans want ‘clown’ Lee Charnley to ‘slither right out’ of the club

Many Newcastle United fans would like to see Lee Charnley leave the Tyneside club after a Question and Answer was posted by ChronicleLive.

Charnley became the managing director of the Magpies back in April 2014 after Derek Llambias left his position the previous year. He took up the role after being NUFC’s club secretary, and his first responsibility was to run the rule of recruitment for the first-team.

The Q&A asked a number of questions, including whether respective writers thought that the takeover deal was done, what Mike Ashley is up to, whether they think Steve Bruce would stay on, whether there are any plans to bring Rafa Benitez back, potential new transfer targets and what priorities the club should have from here on.

However, perhaps the most striking question was whether Charnley would stay on post-takeover, which prompted some negative responses from members of the Toon faithful. He isn’t the most popular man on Tyneside, as you can tell by what people have been saying.

One supporter branded him a ‘clown‘ whilst another said that he can ‘slither right out‘. Check out some of the reactions on Twitter:
