Newcastle United: Lee Ryder update on Oxford United replay BBC TV scheduling has Magpies supporters in bits

Responding to a tweet from Chronicle journalist Lee Ryder, Newcastle United supporters have laughed at the news their FA Cup fourth-round replay against Oxford United will be televised on BBC One – with some claiming this could be a bad omen.

The Magpies drew 0-0 at home to the League One outfit last time around, failing to capitalise on their home advantage at St. James’ Park and ultimately coming away with a disappointing stalemate. First team names such as Allan Saint-Maximin, Miguel Almiron and Joelinton spearheaded a strong side for the FA Cup clash, including new loan signing Nabil Bentaleb, but Steve Bruce’s men were still unable to cruise past Oxford.

Now, with the replay scheduled for 4th February, journalist Ryder has confirmed that Newcastle’s game will be televised on BBC One – with some supporters taking that as a bad omen or laughing off the news altogether.
