Luke Edwards has given an update on the proposed takeover of Newcastle United on his official Twitter page as he responded to an article from The Chronicle.
As per the outlet, there were rumours that the helicopter of Mike Ashley was spotted in the skies of Tyneside as the Magpies drew 2-2 with West Ham United at St. James’ Park in the Premier League, having come from behind twice thanks to goals from Miguel Almiron and Jonjo Shelvey.

However Edwards, in response to the rumours, suggested that the chief executive of Sports Direct remains in the United States of America and the adviser to him Justin Barnes has been using his copter to travel to and from matches.

If what the Daily Telegraph journalist says is true, then the prospective £300 million deal between Ashley and Amanda Staveley’s Saudi Arabian-led group may be delayed further considering that he is in another country at the moment.
There have been several other delays that have stopped the bid already, as the consortium have still yet to learn the results of the Owners’ and Directors’ Test (ODT) set out by the Premier League.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabian (KSA) crown prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) has previously been accused of not being a fit and proper owner by Hatice Cengiz, the fiancee of the late journalist Jamaal Khashoggi, who has accused MbS of being involved in his murder and remains confident that the Premier League will not approve the takeover (Chronicle).

Whether the top flight seriously consider taking this into account when looking at the ODT is up in the air for now, as the wait in the takeover saga goes on.
