Newcastle United have confirmed the exit of Jake Turner to Morecambe on a loan for the upcoming 2020/21 season on their official website.
As per the website, the man from Wilmslow signed for the Tyneside club in last summer’s transfer window after leaving Bolton Wanderers.

Turner was nominated for the Premier League’s Under-23 Save of the Season for a superb fingertip stop in a Premier League International Cup tie against Portuguese team SL Benfica last year, and has trained with Steve Bruce’s first-team squad on a number of occasions.
The 21-year old had loan spells with Stalybridge Celtic and Darlington during his time at Bolton, and now he has gone out on loan again, this time to the Shrimps.
Turner goes straight into training with his new side as they started to train earlier this week.
The goalkeeper played in 13 games across the Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy in the 2019/20 term, keeping four clean sheets and conceding 22 goals, according to Transfermarkt.

He is also an England international, playing in the youth set-up at U18 and U19 level, as per the website.
However, with the likes of Martin Dubravka, Freddie Woodman, Karl Darlow and Mark Gillespie in the keeping position already at St. James’ Park currently, perhaps it was a wise move to send Turner out on loan to gain some perhaps valuable experience in the lower divisions.
Whether this would make him ready to jump into the first-team squad in the North East after is another question, but at least he can get some precious minutes under his belt as he looks to develop in his career as a professional football player.
