Mark Douglas has revealed the latest stance from the buying side on the proposed takeover of Newcastle United as he has claimed in an article for The Chronicle that the would-be owners remain ‘determined’ to get the £300 million deal with Mike Ashley over the line and remain confident that their prospective bid will be approved by the Premier League.
As per the journalist, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian (KSA) group are apparently unfazed by the delays with the approval by the top flight and have also stepped up their plans to try and get the deal over the line.

The hope is that the KSA will prompt a breakthrough in the whole saga by giving further answers to authorities with regards to a 2016 case brought by the Saudis which led to the banning of Qatari broadcaster beIN Sports from the country.
Indeed, they solely hold the rights in the Middle East to legally broadcast live games from England’s highest division, which means that the residents from the KSA will no longer be able to watch these matches as beIN is no longer available to be watched in their own country.
Nevertheless, Douglas seems to suggest that the buying side have not been put off by the recent delays and remain hopeful that their bid will eventually be given the green light by the league.

However, everything still remains speculation up until this point in time until a final decision is made followed by an official announcement, leaving several members of the Toon faithful twitching their thumbs.
