Former Tottenham Hotspur player Michael Brown thinks Danny Rose may stay at Newcastle United after telling Football Insider that he thinks the English international will make it clear where his future lies for next season.
The pundit insists that Rose will not keep his plans in the summer a secret and will therefore reveal what he wants to do. Steve Bruce has made it publicly clear that he would like to keep the left-back beyond the end of this campaign and it may be up to Rose as to whether he wants to stay on Tyneside.
Brown believes that the decision may be ultimately up to the 29-year old, and thinks that Rose will make his feelings known to the public. This is what he had to comment on the matter: “Danny Rose is one person we know who has his opinion, will speak and say it how it is. I don’t think he’ll disappoint to say whether he wants to stay or whether he doesn’t want to stay. He’ll certainly let everybody know.
“Steve Bruce has come and said that (he wants to keep him). He’s a good player, is Danny Rose, and Steve Bruce wants good players at the football club.”
Rose has only made six appearances in all competitions for the Magpies since his move up north from Spurs in the January transfer window, which is initially on a loan deal until the end of the term, according to ChronicleLive.
The £14.4 million-rated man had only managed to feature in 16 games in both the Premier League and Champions League this season for Spurs prior to his move, managing two assists from full-back, as per Transfermarkt.
Rose may feel like a permanent switch to Newcastle would suit him if he is to get more time on the pitch, which is especially likely given Bruce’s comments and reports that regular left-back Jetro Willems may be out until November.
Brown thinks that the Englishman will reveal his decision, and it could be that he remains a Magpie beyond this campaign.
