According to a report from the BBC, Premier League clubs have voted to extend the closing time of the summer transfer window back to it’s original setting along with the rest of Europe to 1st September at 17:00 – with the news resulting in Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and manager Steve Bruce receiving jibes from supporters.
Beforehand, the window closed during the eve of the new Premier League season (The Guardian), but after a sweeping vote from top-flight clubs, it has been restored to its original time frame. Despite Ashley and co seemingly producing decent business in January, acquiring Nabil Bentaleb, Valentino Lazaro and Danny Rose on loan deals to strengthen previously frail positions (Transfermarkt) – these Magpies supporters hold no hope over the summer window despite it’s extended opening time.
Indeed, this news could indicate that Newcastle will have more time to conduct much-needed business at the end of the season, but supporters insist it will just be more ‘agony‘.

Transfer windows dont realy effect us much we just get linked with every player going then they come out and “say plates are spinning” or “couldn’t get it over the line” or “wasn’t better than what we already have” 🙈🙈🙈

Basically means clubs will now haggle and barter for longer once again and get nowhere. Getting it done before the season started was perfect as you knew who you had and that was it. They have enough time already
