According to a piece from the Chronicle written by Lee Ryder, speaking after the Magpies’ 0-0 draw with Oxford United at the weekend, Newcastle United loan signing Nabil Bentaleb is keen to make his move permanent – but these supporters are divided over his desire coming so soon after his debut.
Bentaleb, who made his first start for the club during their FA Cup stalemate at home to the League One minnows, mildly impressed with ‘flashes here and there‘ despite being rusty following a lack of competitive action over this last year.
Speaking to the Chronicle after the encounter, Bentaleb hinted at his desire to make the move permanent despite only playing one game for the club thus far. Compared to fellow central midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, the Algerian has displayed in the past that he can more than match Newcastle’s current favourite in the middle – having registered a superior pass success rate (79.3%) with more aerial duels won on average (1.5) than the Englishman last campaign for Schalke, as per WhoScored.com.
However, following his potential desire to make the switch a permanent one, supporters have been divided over his pledge – with some sceptical over his loyalty that may have come a bit too soon whilst others have displayed a mix of opinion. Find all of their best comments down below.
If he’s that hungry to move away from Schalke, then I sure as hope we as much hunger on the pitch. Actions speak louder than words.
