Newcastle United: Emil Krafth was ‘out of his depth’ again versus West Brom

Arsenal and Crystal Palace legend Ian Wright described Newcastle United ace Emil Krafth as being ‘out of his depth’ playing as a right-sided central defender in the 3-1 loss at home to Spurs at St. James’ Park back in July, and it was no different against West Brom in the Premier League, even in his preferred role as a right-back.
Even though the Tyneside club won the game 2-1 in the end, thanks to goals from Miguel Almiron and Dwight Gayle, the display of Krafth would have surely caused some form of concern for Steve Bruce.
Krafth did not have the best game for Newcastle
The Sweden international did not have the best of games against Slaven Bilic’s team, as he failed to offer any real attacking threat from the flank.
Should Krafth start for Newcastle?
Yes

No

He failed to record a single shot, key pass, accurate cross or long ball, and also lost possession no fewer than on 15 separate occasions in the match (Sofascore).
Krafth’s defensive display was not that much better, as he failed to block any shots on his goal and also never managed to make a single interception or tackle throughout the clash (Sofascore).
If he continues to put in performances like these, then Steve Bruce may have no choice but to remove him from the starting line-up with a busy Christmas schedule ahead.
