Newcastle United: Influential group give hopeful takeover update

The Magpie Group have given a very positive update on the pressure that has been put on the demand for some clarity on the failed £300 takeover of Newcastle United by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) consortium.

The influential group posted a tweet of the Northern MPs who have both responded or are yet to respond to letters from fans of the St. James’ Park faithful asking for some answers on the failed deal between Mike Ashley and the KSA group, with the overall aim that the bid will eventually get back on track.

In the tweet, The Magpie Group also commented on exactly how much influence the letters are having on the prospective takeover, adding that “we know political pressure is working”  while urging fans to continue contacting the MPs who have not yet done their part to boost the takeover chances.

Newcastle takeover brought up by MPs

The details of the proposed takeover in the North East has already been brought up and talked about by various different MPs, including Newcastle Central MP Chi Onwurah, who has recently been left frustrated by the government for failing to answer one of her questions in relation to a takeover claim made by the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Oliver Dowden.

Nonetheless, the influence that local MPs can have in terms of getting some clarification on the failed deal is unquestionable, which could then lead to a possible arbitration hearing in front of a judge to settle the takeover debate once and for all.
