Mark Douglas has claimed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Public Investment Fund (PIF) will re-submit their takeover bid for Newcastle United if there is clear path made to it being done.

The Chronicle journalist tweeted ‘they’ll be back’ in reply to a fan with regards to PIF and their £300m deal with Mike Ashley, adding the legal pressure on the Premier League is always going to be the next stage following the disputes between the English top flight and the Tyneside club.

Douglas also said that the KSA consortium have been confident before, and so they may be confident again that they can resurrect the deal.

The Tyneside club made an official statement just a few days ago that confirmed that they have issued arbitration proceedings against England’s highest division, and it goes on to say that it is unclear as to when those proceedings would be resolved, given the approach of the English top flight and indeed its lawyers.
