Giving an update on Instagram, Sky Sports reporter Pete Graves has confirmed all the details surrounding Newcastle United’s reported takeover by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, brokered by Amanda Staveley, to be true – resulting in swathes of Newcastle fans becoming hopeful over the development.
Graves, who detailed all of his knowledge on Instagram via the Mag, has indeed confirmed that Newcastle could imminently be sold to Saudi Arabian Prince Mohammed bin Salman – who has set up a consortium to buy the club using the Public Investment Fund.
Staveley, who is reportedly brokering the deal in the hopes of obtaining a 10% share in the Magpies, had previously failed in her sole bid to buy the majority shares of the club with PCP Capital Partners (Telegraph) – but now it appears likely that she could help Prince Salman complete a deal. Controversial owner Mike Ashley, who has been the subject of large protests this campaign, is reportedly willing to sell the club – with an agreement ‘90%‘ done (The Guardian).
As a result of Graves’ update, Newcastle supporters have displayed positivity surrounding the development – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
So we’re back to being positive about the deal, come on Ashley.
