According to a report from the Chronicle, four Newcastle United players were confronted on the train back from their 4-0 defeat away to Arsenal on Sunday evening – with supporters since becoming divided over the issue and who is to blame; Mike Ashley, Steve Bruce, the players or those fans.
Goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette sealed a damning second-half performance from Newcastle’s perspective as they conceded four goals inside 45 second-half minutes after going in level at the break. On the journey home, Danny Rose, Nabil Bentaleb, Allan Saint-Maximin and Christian Atsu opted to take the train back to Newcastle in first class where they were confronted by a handful of supporters after a dismal team display.
Since then, a debate has surfaced on social media over who was in the wrong – with these Magpies fans voicing their divided opinions over the ‘disgraceful‘ issue.

There are some football supporters who believe buying a ticket entitles you to abuse the performers in any way you see fit. Theatre-goers don’t generally stand outside the stage door screaming abuse to film on camera phones – not unless it’s Aladdin at the Sunderland Empire.

Giving the players stick on the train is bang out of order. The performances this season have been the worst I can recall over a sustained period. West Ham away being the exception. The football is awful.
