Newcastle United should already be looking to steal Stoke’s £13.5m-rated ideal Shelvey partner

The Newcastle fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a sudden increase in transfer activity with the hope that Rafa Benitez can progress his team even further next season.

In what was a terrific return to the Premier League where Newcastle finished 10th in the table, the Magpies are hoping that that position can be at least maintained if not build on next season. For that to happen though, the team really needs some quality additions in order to spark that belief around the club, someone that could be Stoke’s Badou Ndiaye, who is valued at £13.5 million on Transfermarkt.

The Senegalese midfielder only arrived at Stoke in January this year but after the team suffered relegation, it seems that the talented midfielder may be subject of interest of other Premier League teams like Newcastle. In his short 13 appearances, he scored 2 goals and set up 1, which unfortunately wasn’t enough to keep the Potters away from relegation. Lining up with Jonjo Shelvey could see a formidable partnership being formed and one that could go some way in allowing the Magpies to again reach the top ten in the Premier League.

Mike Ashley is still actively looking to sell but business has to be conducted at St James’ Park or else the team will likely face massive consequences as rivals are already starting to improve with some new acquisitions. Whether Rafa Benitez could work wonders two seasons in a row is hard to believe, so Newcastle must financially back him in order for the Spaniard to do the best job he can, starting with the arrival of the energetic, powerful Badou Ndiaye.
