Newcastle United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking rather concerned with the latest speculation arriving into the bar this evening.
The news comes regional newspaper The Journal who report that Hatem Ben Arfa will almost certainly be sold in the summer after a major falling out with manager Alan Pardew.
While the extremely talented Frenchman is a fans favourite with the Magpies supporters in the tavern, Pardew has decided to give up the ghost with his inconsistent midfielder.
Ben Arfa has struggled for form this season and was singled out for criticism by Pardew after the side’s recent 4-0 defeat to Tottenham as he gave a lacklustre display.
There had been hopes in the bar that Ben Arfa could fulfil the talismanic shoes left by Yohan Cabaye, who departed for Paris Saint-Germain during the recent transfer window, but that now appears out of the question.
A possible destination for the 26-year-old appears to be Inter Milan with the San Siro club planning a summer move for the former Marseille schemer.
Pardew will want to recoup at least £5 million for his mercurial talent at the end of the season, with only one year remaining on his current deal at St James Park.
