The proposed takeover of Newcastle United could be edging ever closer as the BBC has reported that the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) have written to major sporting bodies with the hope to fight against broadcasting piracy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

This follows a report released by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) that found that the pirate satellite TV channel beoutQ, which had been responsible for the illegal broadcasting and streaming of games from the Premier League, was being run in Saudi Arabia, as accused by Qatar.
As per the BBC, SAFF president Yasser Hassan Almisehal has written to the English top flight, FIFA and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as to offer reassurances that the country will fight against their piracy issues.
This could potentially come as a welcome relief to several members of the Toon faithful, as Almisehal seems to have led the way for the Saudis to try and combat the issues and thus this should no longer present a problem to the English top flight in their ultimate decision to approve of the Saudi Arabian-led takeover of the Tyneside club.
