Newcastle United are among a whole host of clubs interested in Rangers ace Glen Kamara, according to 90min.
As per the outlet, the Tyneside club will have to fight off fellow Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, Everton, Sheffield United and Southampton for his signature in the summer transfer window.
EFL Championship teams Brentford and Norwich City are also said to be interested, along with Ukrainian outfit Dynamo Kiev and Russian side Dinamo Moscow.
Kiev and Moscow are apparently willing to pay up to £10 million for his services, as Steven Gerrard’s team are allegedly not in a position to turn down a substantial offer.
Kamara has started in all three games for the Gers so far in the new 2020/21 Scottish Premiership season, as he has helped his side beat Aberdeen, St. Mirren and St. Johnstone while keeping three clean sheets in the process (via Transfermarkt).
In the previous campaign at Ibrox, the defensive midfield player was a key part of the side, playing in 39 matches in all competitions, including making eight appearances in the UEFA Europa League (per the website).
Kamara is also a full senior international, having gained 19 caps for Finland since his debut back in 2017.
Does Kamara start for Newcastle?
At 24 years of age, he still has time to grow and develop as a footballer, but the big question would be whether he can make the step up to the English top flight.
Having been on the books of Arsenal as a youth academy product, Kamara played in just one senior game for the Gunners, and so his experience playing in England at a high level is rather limited.
Nevertheless, the midfielder may turn out to be a shrewd addition by Steve Bruce, but the Magpies will have to beat off all of the competition first.
Geordies, would Kamara be a good signing? Comment below!
