According to quotes from FcInterNews.it, Valentino Lazaro’s preferred destination at the end of his loan spell would be a swift return to his parent club Inter Milan – prompting some Magpies supporters to lament the player’s stance at St. James’ Park.
Max Hagmayr, the player’s agent, stated to the Italian outlet that Lazaro hopes to return to the San Siro once his loan spell on Tyneside expires. The Austrian winger, compared to fellow countryman and defender David Alaba in the past (Bundesliga), has found himself out of favour at Inter since signing from Hertha Berlin in the summer – with the Magpies swooping in and signing the 23-year-old as much needed cover for their currently bereft left-flank.
Compared to fellow senior winger Christian Atsu, Lazaro is only behind the Ghanaian in terms of pass accuracy (76.3%), judging by his stats last campaign, but thrives by comparison when it comes to key passes (1.8) and dribbles per game (1.1), as per WhoScored.com.
Despite his solid statistics, supporters have since come out to lambaste the player’s stance on a permanent move – with one supporter even comparing his attitude to former Magpies midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
