Tottenham supporters have been in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern in recent times after seeing their side cap a memorable week with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Wembley on Sunday, in turn moving them level on points with Manchester United in the Premier League table.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men may well have started the week with defeat to the Red Devils at Old Trafford, but they bounced back admirably on Wednesday night with a stunning 3-1 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League, a result which booked them their spot in the Champions League knockout stages. And although they were far from their best against Roy Hodgson’s Palace last weekend, they got the all important three points thanks to a fine second half strike from Son Heung-min.
Thus, our resident Spurs fans have been particularly buoyant in celebrating their team’s excellent week, and many are already looking forward to the North London derby against Arsenal after the international break on November 18.
Yet, there is still plenty for those Tottenham supporters lining up at the bar to get their teeth into, not least recent reports which suggest that Championship club Aston Villa want to land Josh Onomah on a permanent basis.
The 20-year-old joined the Villans on loan back in August and has certainly proven his worth to manager Steve Bruce with two goals and one assist in 14 Championship games, as well as a whole host of impressive displays for the Midlands giants.
And reports suggest that Bruce is seeking to secure a permanent deal for the England Under-21 international, which is news that has stimulated quite a response from Spurs supporters on Twitter.
And it’s fair to say that many are hoping that the talented youngster will indeed remain at the North London club…
