The Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments made by their manager Steve Bruce ahead of their home game to Leeds tonight at Villa Park. Bruce made comments about the club’s promotion push, claiming the club still had an outside chance of automatic promotion but it would be very difficult for the club, you can listen to Steve Bruce’s comments in his press conference on Aston Villa’ Youtube channel.

The Villa fans propping up our bar will be looking forward to gaining all three points when they host Leeds United tonight. The club has been in mixed form over the last few weeks, Bruce’s men have beaten both Cardiff and Wolves over the last month but fell to defeats against QPR, Bolton and Norwich in that same time, making the club’s work towards an automatic promotion spot even tougher.
Realistically, the Villains will need to brave the playoffs if they’re gain promotion back to the Premier League at the second time of asking after being relegated at the end of the 2015/16 season. Since their relegation, the club has made a number of changes, shipping out their appropriately named “bomb squad” and bringing in new players to challenge for promotion under Steve Bruce.
