No squad overhaul on the cards for Arsenal this summer

Arsene Wenger has money to spend

Wenger has the money to spend Arsenal fans are not too impressed here in the Football Transfer Tavern after Metro‘s latest claim.

The publication seem to be under the impression that Gunners manager Arsene Wenger will n0t lead a summer overhaul and things will be pretty much the same at the North London club next season.

Our punters move to the bar to get a bank holiday weekend beer and make the point that given how Wenger’s men struggled to keep pace with the rest of the pack this term – after their Christmas side away of course – we think that will only become more obvious next term when the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City strengthen.

Wenger was asked about his summer plans and claimed: “It will be busy, but the main thing for us will be to keep the stability because we feel we are close. We want to add something that makes us even stronger, but, number wise, it will not be massive.

“From my experience, the World Cup years have always been very quiet until the end of the World Cup, with no players reachable.”

Quite if this is the case remains to be seen – especially given Wenger’s rivals have made it clear they want their new recruits in before the start of the World Cup!

Is Wenger set to miss out on his top targets once again or will he manage to get his star men? Let us know your thoughts below.
