Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern have come back down to Earth after their side lost at Reading over the weekend.
The Whites had been flying of late and after a win against Brighton many felt that they might be able to get into the automatic spots before the end of the season.
After losing to the Royals 1-0, though, the men from Elland Road look set to have to settle for the play-off places as their way of potentially getting to the Premier League.
Indeed, it was a tense affair at the Madejski Stadium with plenty of needle as the likes of Liam Cooper appeared to stamp on Reece Oxford during the game.
And despite Phil Hay reporting on Twitter that Garry Monk said the defender isn’t that kind of player, Leeds fans were quick to criticise the his actions.
Here, then, is the best of what was said:
“He’s not that type of lad.” Monk defends Liam Cooper as the centre-back waits to see if he will face FA charge:https://t.co/eAWFNtX3N7pic.twitter.com/VHuP3Pur7d

@PhilHayYEP How many times do you see someone do something disgraceful then hear a manager say he’s not that type of lad? He is, he did it!

@PhilHayYEP You seem to get this with cooper he always does something stupid either causing us to lose or disgracing the club

@PhilHayYEP Utter nonsense from Monk, Cooper knew exactly what he was doing and he will get banned for at least 3 games.

@Muzza8787 @PhilHayYEP Blackett was a nothing challenge. Coops, I’m not sure. Think he’ll get away with it though

@PhilHayYEP @jonbarrett1968 I don’t think he meant it but based on what happened to Mings you’d think he’ll get a 3-5 match ban

@gazbarlow84 @PhilHayYEP At times Cooper also finds it difficult to defend ha

@PhilHayYEP TBH it doesn’t look good on playback, but neither did Blacketts elbow.
— Morley white (@morleywhites) 3 April 2017
@PhilHayYEP The thing in Coopers favour is that he didn’t straighten his leg at all. He obviously landed on the lad and maybe he could have avoided it?
